The last two weeks we have been exploring different techniques to help us create a 3D paper sculpture. First we experimented making tubes of different heights and then attaching them in different ways. Then we had a go at creating different shapes with paper such as spirals, curves and zig zags. It has been wonderful to watch the children work with confidence and independence!
Ahead of the phonics screen check, that the children will take shortly after May half term, here are some videos to support your child at home. In the first few videos, the children are encouraged to spot the ‘Special Friends’ (two or more letters that make one sound e.g. ee) and then ‘Fred Talk’ (say each sound in the word e.g. s-ee-n).

The children really enjoyed their cricket session with Sharon from the Yorkshire Cricket Board yesterday!
Before the Easter holidays, we were very lucky to have Hattie’s grandpa and Melissa’s mum come to school to talk to us about toys from their childhood. The children listened carefully and asked lots of questions. They then enjoyed having a look at the different toys and games. ‘Shove a ha’penny’ was a particular hit!
A huge thank you to all our visitors who took the time out to come and talk to us for Science week. The children really enjoyed hearing about different jobs in Science and technology!
